Yes, BLACK, the 'Blue screen of death' is a general term for when the Microsoft Operating System freezes or hangs, but it can also appear to hang with a black screen, though generally if this happens it's because the whole machine is running so slowly or eventually crashes and either restarts, or has to be rebooted anyway.
But Microsoft in their ultimate wisdom have allowed the 'Black Screen' to persist and it could be doing an update of the Operating System in the background, so if you see the black screen, just leave it plugged in and switched on for around 8 hours or so and you will probably find it will clear and then reboot normally afterwards!
